It is important to note that the rules and regulations for all players will remain the same. Additionally, the lottery results will now be announced on National TV and YouTube, besides the Nagaland State Lottery website and local newspaper/E-Paper, as it was previously.
When asked about the legality of the lottery in the future, the Director General of the Nagaland State Lotteries stated that participation in the lottery is entirely voluntary, and the government does not force anyone to buy a ticket. The lottery provides hope to the people of Nagaland, who are generally poor, and the state lottery has a successful track record of helping the government provide support and welfare to the people of the state.
The winners of the lottery pay taxes, and these taxes are used for the betterment of the people and the state of Nagaland. Therefore, the Director General believes that the lottery shall remain legal, and the government will continue to use the proceeds from the lottery to serve the people of the state.
